Damages for Bike Crash

A former prison officer who was involved in a road accident has been awarded £213,409 in compensation. Graham Henderson was riding a motorbike with his wife as a pillion passenger when a van turned across his path. Both Mr Henderson and his wife were thrown from the bike.

Mr Henderson had to have surgery for a head injury and suffered a broken wrist. He was later forced to leave his job in the prison service because of his injuries.

In another case, an unnamed man was awarded £530,000 in damages after a motorbike crashed into him while he was riding his bicycle. The man suffered a fractured skull, bleeding to the brain, damage to his shoulder, dislocated knees and facial fractures.

He has been left with cognitive difficulties which mean that his memory is impaired and he now has difficulty in controlling his temper. As a result, it will be very difficult for him to get another job and he will continue to require specialised care.

If you have been involved in a road accident that was not your fault, you could be entitled to compensation.
